Our Tax Foundation Course offers theoretical and practical insights into the Latvian tax system to professionals from various backgrounds for use in their day-to-day work. PwC tax consultants will describe the Latvian tax system and the core principles of each particular tax, as well as analysing Latvian laws and regulatory interpretations. The programme will be useful to business leaders and financial accounting professionals seeking specialist insights into the world of taxation.
Our timetable
The Tax Foundation Course is our broadest programme of study, which enters its 12th season this year. The programme begins on 16 October with a comprehensive introductory lecture “The Latvian tax system” and ends on 1 April 2020. Plus, on 8 April we will deliver an overview of future development trends in financial accounting, hold a graduation ceremony, and hand out your certificates.

As usual, you can either complete the full programme or individual modules. We encourage clients who have completed individual modules in the past to get the rest down this year and take out a certificate confirming completion of the full Tax Foundation Course.
The new season will focus on analysing case studies and your independent work. To help you memorise and reinforce what you have learned, some of the workshops will have you complete a brief test, and we will then discuss the right answers and common mistakes. Some of the modules will feature a final test of your theoretical knowledge, and we will ask you to figure out some case studies.
Completing the Tax Foundation Course or any of its modules will give you –
  • an understanding of the Latvian tax system and the core principles of particular taxes, as well as the legal and accounting aspects of transactions;
  • practical skills in applying taxes;
  • PwC tax advice on the subjects being studied and support throughout the course; and
  • a PwC’s Academy certificate.
Plus, we will be serving delicious refreshments during coffee breaks every week.
Our clients who completed the course in the past appreciate its quality and efficient use in their future career, as confirmed by this feedback: “I liked the Tax Foundation Course run by PwC’s Academy very much. Although my day-to-day work is not directly related to tax matters, I found it very interesting to learn the basics of the Latvian tax system. Clearly, each lecturer is a pro in their own field. I enjoyed how they enthusiastically presented the basics and the latest developments in their field. Thank you!”
The number of places is limited, so we encourage you to apply and enrol early.
See you on 16 October!
